6. Optical Characteristics

The following items are measured under stable conditions. The optical characteristics should be measured in a dark room or equivalent state with the methods shown in Note (1).

a.Test equipment setup

After stabilizing and leaving the panel alone shall be warmed up for the stable operation of LCM, the measurement should be executed. Measurement should be executed in a stable, windless, and dark room. Optical specifications are measured by Topcon BM-7(fast) with a viewing angle of 2 at a distance of 50cm and normal direction.


b.Definition of response time: Tr and Tf

The response time is defined as the following figure and shall be measured by switching the input signal for “black” and “white”.

FAQ

1.What is RGB backlight ?

This RGB (Red, Green, Blue) backlight can change color based on which connections are grounded. Mix your ground connections to make a variety of colors!

2.What is the temperature range of 7’’ TFT lcd module ?

This display has a wide temperature range: -20° Celcius to +70° Celcius which equates to (-4° Fahrenheit to +158° Fahrenheit).

3.Comparison between STN LCD and TFT displays?

STN LCDs require less power and are less expensive to manufacture than TFT LCDs, another popular type of LCD that has largely superseded STN for mainstream laptops. STN displays typically suffer from lower image quality and slower response time than TFT displays. However, STN LCDs can be made purely reflective for viewing under direct sunlight. STN displays are used in some inexpensive mobile phones and informational screens of some digital products.

4.What are the Storage Precautions

In case of storing for a long period of time for the purpose of replacement use, the following ways are recommended.

(1) Storage in a polyethylene bag with the opening sealed so as not to enter fresh air outside in it, and with no desiccant.

(2) Placing in a dark place where neither exposure to direct sunlight nor light is, keeping temperature in the range from -30°C to 80°C

(3) Storing with no touch on polarizer surface by anything else. (It is recommended to store them as they have been contained in the inner container at the time of delivery from us.)
